Eurasian Golden Oriole
is a bird roughly of a blackbird’s size. Male's distinctive body coloration contrasts with black colour of the wings and tail. On the contrary, female is coloured very inconspicuously. Golden oriole is a migratory bird who arrives at the turn of April and May. Its wintering sites are situated in Southern Africa. Most often it occurs solitarily in light broad-leaved forests, orchards etc. Individuals attain maturity in the first year of life and have a lifespan of up to 13 years. It belongs among severely endangered species.
