Viviparous Lizard

viviparous lizard is usually less than 15 cm long (except the tail, which is 1.5 to 2 x longer than the whole body), it has short limbs with long digits and quite strong neck and tail. In the CZ it is present in the gardens, parks, mountain areas or meadows. Its diet consists of invertebrate animals, insects or arthropods. The lizard itself is a food for snakes or bigger raptors. It received the title of viviparous owing to the ability to give birth to live young. It has a lifespan of more than 15 years and in the CZ it is protected as a severely endangered species.
