Green-Winged Orchid

despite the fact that it is an orchid, it is not a member of Orchidaceae genus, but Anacamptis genus. The reason for this is that the plant is more genetically related to pyramidal orchid that to other Orchidaceae. Green-winged orchid formerly belonged among abundant Czech Orchidaceae that grew in the CZ meadows and pastures, however, nowadays it is a severely endangered species. This is a result of change in land cultivation that led to disappearance of this 8 to 40 cm tall plant from many locations.
