Slowworm

is a representative of legless lizards growing to a length of 30 to 45 cm. It has inconspicuous brownish colour with one, two or three dark stripes. It is a burrowing reptile that hides at daytime under stones, in tree stumps and under leaves and comes out only at dusk. Blindworms can be seen after rain when they are seeking dew worms and slugs that make their food. Blindworms are quite harmless lizards but are often mistaken with snakes. In the CR, they are strongly endangered species.
