Red Squirrel

this medium-sized rodent grows to 23 cm, whereas its weight varies between 250 to 340 g. Red squirrel has usually hair colour adapted to the habitat environment, however, it always has creamy to white tummy and neck. Its characteristic features include ear-tufts and shaggy tail that helps squirrel balance and steer when jumping from tree to tree. This rodent is able to move at up to 19 km/h. It predominantly feeds on cone seeds, mushrooms, nuts and bird eggs.
