European Green Toad
this frog species grows to 8 cm. Its body is of whitish colour with green to olive blotches. In the CZ it is spread across the whole region – it is abundant in the locations up to 450 m.a.s.l. and on the contrary avoids colder and mountain areas. It lives in the open country, i.e. gardens, parks, in the vicinity of lakes or ponds and does not even avoid larger puddles. Out of all our amphibians it puts up with heat and drought best.
