Chlum Mountain

Chlum Mountain lies not far from Manětín, straddling the border between the regions of Karlovy Vary and Pilsen. At its highest point, it rises from the surrounding plain to 640.5 m ASL. Visitors who scale the mountain are welcomed on the top by a stylish resting place and information panel (erected in 2011 by ČSOP Alter Meles thanks to the NET4GAS Closer to Nature programme), and may look forward to a great view in all directions.

What makes Chlum Mountain so special is its endemic flora. For instance, Sorbus rhodanthera grows nowhere else in the world, which is why the slopes of Chlum Mountain have rightfully been put under protection as a nature sanctuary.
