Bog Cranberry

is a small shrubby plant, in the conditions of Central Europe strictly connected to peat bogs. It blooms in spring with a rather inconspicuous white blossom. It attracts much more attention in the autumn, when it creates crimson-red blossoms. Fruits form an important part of diet for many animals including black grouse. Due to its rarity it is a strictly protected species in the Czech Republic.
