Rosemary-Leaved Willow

A smaller shrub that grows up to 1.5 m in height, with erect branches. The bark is brown and smooth. The annual shoots and buds are covered with fuzz. Leaves are mostly elongated, ovate. The catkins are cylindrical, and are longer in female flowers compared to male flowers. This is a sun-loving woody plant found in hilly and submontane areas. This willow lives for approx. 30 years. It blossoms shortly before leaves shoot in April and May, with an occasional second flowering in late summer.
