Meadow Saffron

is colloquially also referred to as naked lady, and presents a perennial herb, which is highly poisonous. Meadow saffron plant grows up to 20 cm of height. Its flower can be seen in the nature in the period between August and November. The above-ground part of the flower is no greater than 15 cm and is pinkish to dark violet. The plant naturally occurs in humid meadows, both in lowland as well as in the mountain locations. It is an interesting fact that in the lowlands it seeks half-shade and sunny locations in the mountains. Its seeds, tuber and flower are also used in the medicine for production of medicaments.
