Dog's Tooth Violet

this perennial herb with underground bulb grows up to 20 cm tall. Dogtooth stem is direct with two leaves. The plant only has one flower with petals of various deep-pink, blooming in the period of March to April. Dogtooth violet usually grows in lighter broad-leaved groves, occasionally also in rocky locations. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia this plant ranks among critically endangered species and is also protected by the law.
