Common Moonwort

An esthetic fern that usually grows a single leaf, which is up to 20 cm in height, in the Czech Republic, it can be found scattered around the entire country, with notable habitats, e.g. in the Jeseníky mountains. Common Moonwort is one of those species whose environmental demands are not fully understood and are in any case very specific. Common Moonwort prefers dry to humid meadows, pastures, sunny spots in forests, and clearings within the subalpine zone.
