Western Barbastelle

A small bat species that is 50 - 60 mm in size when fully grown. Its dark fur comes in shades from brown to brown-black to black, with a possible silvery hue. Ears and flying membranes have the same colour as the fur. The centre of distribution of this species lies in Western, Central and Southern Europe. In the Czech Republic, it can be found almost nationwide, with the highest concentration in contingent forest land.
