Stock dove

is a wild pigeon species of the order Columbiformes with a body mass of up to 300 grams. Its body is mostly of grey colour shading into purple on the breast. Males and females have the same coloration. Stock dove nests in full-grown broadleaved forests, especially in beechwoods. It feeds on seeds and various kinds of berries. Stock dove is protected in the Czech Republic as an endangered species.
