Little Owl

is a small owl in the family Strigidae. Adult Little Owl grows hardly the size of a domestic pigeon. Little owl has a sturdier body, small and wide head and a short tail. The coloration of males and females does not differ. Little owl can be found all year long in open country (on fields or meadows). It is active mainly during the night and it preys mainly on small rodents (common voles most frequently) and other small mammals, insects, lizards, frogs or snakes.
Little Owl was largely represented in the CR but their population numbers maximum 500 pairs nowadays.
