Jersey Tiger

The Jersey Tiger is a moth endemic to stony forest-steppe areas. The adult is characterized by the bright orange to red color of its hind wings. The forewings are black-green with pronounced whitish to yellowish stripes. The moth’s abdomen is likewise orange, with a row of small black dots along the ridge. It hibernates as a caterpillar, which then pupates in May or June and emerges as the imago in summer.
