Small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata)

also knows as Small-leaved Linden or Little-leaf Linden is the Czech national tree. It grows to 30 m and sometimes even higher. Lime leaves are heart-shaped and jagged around. This tree can be found throughout the CR. Small-leaved lime is also known for the healing effects of its flowers. Lime flower tea is considered to be of value in colds or hacking cough. It support sweating and alimentary system functioning. Lime wood is used for manufacture of musical instruments. Small-leaved lime is not a specially protected tree. Trees that belong to natural monuments are protected.
