Italian Aster

A perennial plant that grows up to 80 cm in height, it has an erect, hairy stem, often reddish in color, branching in the upper section. With solitary flowers at the end of each stalk, lingulate, pale to purplish blue petals, it grows on sunny slopes, steppe meadows, on alkaline, heat-retaining soils, in elevations from the lowlands to the foothills of mountains. It flowers from July to September.
