Fringe-flowered Gentian

A herbaceous biennial to shortly perennial plant, up to 30 cm in height, with a straight, non-branching stem. Individual flowers are of a blue hue. Grows on dry to moderately humid grassland, predominantly on chalky soil and usually in the foothills, only rarely in the mountains. It blooms from July through October. In our country, its distribution is scattered, with occurrences primarily in the Czech and Moravian Karst, the Bohemian Uplands, the White Carpathians, etc.
