Choryně Wetland

The Choryně Wetland is a nature preserve not far from Valašské Meziříčí. On an expanse of almost 21 hectares, one finds unique communities of wetland species, including a whole number of animal and plant species that enjoy special protection. Among other animals, more than thirty kinds of dragonfly and several endangered butterfly species have found refuge here, not to mention a broad variety of the classic wetland animals - amphibians.

In 2010, a number of stillwater pools were excavated at the site in order to allow the unique wetland communities of protected animals and plants to expand further. With the friendly support of the NET4GAS Closer to Nature programme, the ČSOP was able to install two info panels for visitors with interesting facts on the inhabitants of this singular habitat.
