21.10.2011
On 20 October 2011, thanks to NET4GAS Closer to Nature program, we made accessible Chlumská Mountain. In this site, the visitors can see a rare plant - Sorbus Rhodanthera rowan, which is not to be found elswhere in the world.
The newly accessible Chlumská Mountain site is significant mainly because of its botanic rarities, which is why it is a part of Chlum nature reservation. In this locality, thermophilous oak woods or talus forests grow, where rare fauna and flora can be found. A keen visitor will appreciate the sighting of a Eurasian badger of a fire salamander. Moreover, from the mountain peak, the visitors can admire the vast countryside of the Karlovy Vary region spreading before their eyes.
