Bird-watching Platform on Shore of Liboc Wetlands

The Liboc Wetlands in Kynšperk nad Ohří are actually two lakes covering about three hectares in total, which originated when the area, perforated by abandoned mining shafts, collapsed unto themselves. Today, the site is a suitable habitat for a number of aquatic animals and an ideal nesting place for birds.

Because of this, members of the local Kynšperk chapter, with the support of the NET4GAS Closer to Nature programme, built an ornithological watching spot in 2019, which makes it easier to observe the goings-on in this biotope. Birdwatchers are well-advised to carry their binoculars. The identification of individual species is made easier by an info panel, which provides additional information about the site and which has been installed right at the bird-watching platform. Local environmentalists use the spot to organize educational events for life-sciences or environmental studies.
