Moore's Horsetail

A hybrid between Winter Horsetail and Branched Horsetail, this is a perennial plant growing most often to 20-100 cm in height. The stem is ribbed and is grey-green or light green in colour. Atop the stem sits a solitary, pointy spore-bearing cone; given that the plant is a hybrid, it only rarely grows a cone, not to mention that the spores themselves are often stunted. However, vegetative propagation works well for Moore's Horsetail. This species is found primarily at low elevations.
