Sea Eagle

Among the largest extant eagle species in Europe, and the largest bird of prey in the Czech Republic, its body measures 69 – 92 cm, with the male weighing around 4 kg, and the female 7 kg. It has a wingspan of up to 5 m. The only difference between the male and female is the size. The Sea Eagle’s diet consists exclusively of fish, birds and mammals; only exceptionally will it feed on other animals. It builds solitary nests in lake and pond areas and coastal areas. Adult birds face no natural predators in the wild, so their greatest threat lies in human activity.
