Corn Crake

is a medium-sized bird with grey yellow-brown wings. It has a blue-grey streak from the base of the bill to behind the eye and its breast is grey. It nests on damp meadows and also on meadows with high vegetation and pastures. In the CZ area it has been recently spreading after a temporary withdrawal, its numbers are estimated at 1,500 to 1,700 pairs.
