Jelenice

Not far from Brno, in the valley of the Hostěnice Brook, lies the wet meadow Jelenice. Even though it has always been a boon for the natural scientist, ordinary tourists have only had access to it since 2008, when the ČSOP, drawing upon the support of the NET4GAS Closer to Nature programme, installed a timber causeway.

One finds a number of protected and rare plant and animal species at Jelenice, among them, for example, the Broad-Leaved Marsh Orchid, but also various amphibian animals.
